ROEF is an initiative by Jesse Jörg, Remco Moen Marcar, Eva Braaksma, Cathelijn de Reede, and Alexander van der Meer. Scroll down to see what else they’re up to (together) and what roofs to visit for high-fiving them! Together they also developed the Rainbar (the only bar where it rains inside!) for Waternet, Amsterdam Rainproof, Water Sensitive Rotterdam, Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht. Get into a raincoat and come enjoy a Rainbeer on the Rooftop Festival ROEF or other festivals in the country.
Cultural programmer, at his best when keeping 100 balls in the air. Alex is co-founder of the Programmeursgilde, an association for cultural producers, and was involved in the early stages of both the Volkshotel and Roest. Experience his programming skills in different city districts during 24H Amsterdam. The Volkshotel is his home away from home, so that’s where to find him for a high-five!
If you found this page, you must’ve heard about ROEF before. Great! Cathelijn is the one responsible for communication, PR, and concept development. With Springtide Studios she creates ‘positive impact’ campaigns, events, and communications for her own initiatives and clients. She also does illustrations on the side. A few examples: Buurtgids, True Fashion Collective, BankjesCollectief, Lola Lik and Uno. Hopp is her green favorite of the Amsterdam roofscape.
Designer and art director with an eagle-eye for detail. Together with Remco, she runs Frank Lee and she is founder of Didly Design. Loving ROEF’s design? With many sustainable and social projects in her portfolio, Eva makes sure that not only ROEF and the Rainbar look great, but also she’s responsible for De Dakdokters, HOBU, Tree Fest and Buurtgids. Favorite roof? Zoku + sun + a white beer.

Okay, here we go: HOBU, De Brigade, BankjesCollectief, Boiling and Lola Lik. You can often find him on the roof of the Volkshotel for a high-five.
Project leader with an everlasting positive outlook and focus on the horizon. Together with Eva he started Frank Lee, bureau for social activation. The Rainbar is now under their wings. Together with high-flyer Jesse, Remco organizes Brigades at de Ceuvel.
